Dr. Michele Naruszewicz

Dr. Michele Naruszewicz practices optometry at both Mountain View Optometry locations (Calgary and Cochrane) however spends most of her time at the Calgary (Crowfoot) branch. Born and raised in the Detroit area, she attended the Michigan College of Optometry and graduated with High Distinction in 1994. She then did a one year residency program in hospital-based optometry in Lexington, Kentucky, shortly thereafter moving to Alberta to start private practice with her husband Tom.

Her clinical experiences include an externship at the Grand Forks Air Force base in North Dakota, treating inmates at an ocular disease and trauma clinic in Jackson, Michigan, examining Special Needs adults and children in Saginaw, Michigan, as well as a charitable eye care mission where she assisted in examining and providing glasses for over 1500 Hondurans near San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

Since moving to Alberta, Dr. Michele (as she is known to her patients) moved from her original location in Market Mall to Mountain View’s new facility in Crowfoot Village. As most would attest, she truly takes a Special Interest in her patients, and takes the time to listen, examine and educate. She strongly believes in a preventative approach to eye care. Dr. Michele enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, and most outdoor activities. She is an avid sports fan and can often be easily spotted at Flames games when her beloved Red Wings are in town, wearing her Detroit jersey (at least it’s red)!
